Botox for Men
Botox for men is an extremely popular and simple way of achieving a younger appearance. In fact, the amount of Botox procedures performed for men has increased 310 percent over the past decade.
In many cases, men are seeking to get rid of frown lines and crow’s feet. Botox affects neurotransmitters at the injection site and “freezes” the muscles in that area responsible for creating wrinkles that result from frowning and squinting. As a result, the face looks more relaxed, refreshed and younger.
Before getting a Botox procedure, it is essential to review the qualifications of the doctor or practitioner performing the procedure. A doctor experienced in facial anatomy and the use of Botox, such as a dermatologist or plastic surgeon, is essential. While some doctors “learn” how to use Botox at a weekend seminar so they can offer it in their offices, they still may not have enough experience to control the results of the Botox injection. Dentists and psychiatrists have all been known to offer Botox, so it is essential you visit a qualified cosmetic practitioner.

Botox treatments can be received during your lunch break. The injections are considered relatively painless with manageable discomfort. The entire procedure takes about 15 minutes.
While some redness and swelling is not uncommon for a short time after your injections, our patients report that no one notices anything different about their appearance once they leave our office.
Unlike facial fillers, the results of which can be seen immediately, it will take a matter of days before you start to notice the effects of Botox.
Botox lasts for about three months. It is recommended that you start out with a light and conservative injection plan so you can see how your body reacts to the Botox. You can always get additional injections, but if you go “too far,” you may be dissatisfied with results that look less than natural.
Dermal Fillers for Men
Facial fillers for men add volume to the face and smooth the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Dermal fillers can also be effectively used for a non-surgical nose job for patients that are not quite ready to go under the knife. If you are looking into dermal fillers for the purpose of getting a non-surgical rhinoplasty, it is always best to make sure that the one administering the injections is an experienced facial plastic surgeon, like Dr. Aminpour. His medical background and specialization as an ENT doctor in Los Angeles will ensure optimal results over anyone else who simply has the certification to administer these dermal fillers. During your consultation, be sure to ask our Los Angeles nose surgeon if a non-surgical nose job is the right option for you.
Some of the most popular dermal fillers for men are Restylane, Juvederm and Radiesse. Restylane is made of hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in the body. For this reason, it will not cause allergic reactions. Restylane is commonly used for injections around the mouth. Results can last up to a year and half if a follow-up treatment is done a few months after the initial injections. Juvederm is also made of hyaluronic acid and is excellent for smoothing “laugh lines” or the lines around the nose and mouth. Results last about 9 months. Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxylapatite, which helps stimulate the production of collagen within your face. Results can last for a year or more.
After your treatment, the injection site may feel sore and bruised for two to three days. It is important to avoid alcohol and strenuous physical activity during this time.
